We're Going Door to Door in Berwyn

BERWYN, IL, USA - September 1, 2010 

From September 1 to October 31, Peace Center volunteers are going door to door in Berwyn . The goal is to raise awareness about the Peace Center's work and mission and fundraise in the community.

"Our intention is to let those who live in the Depot District know about the Center and invite their support," says Margo Ruark, Executive Director. "We're starting today and hope you can join us."

"We've got an ambitious goal - 2,500 households in 60 days. And to meet that, we could use more volunteers," says Ruark. The Peace Center has made enormous progress since opening its doors a year ago in Berwyn's Historic Depot District.  

The Peace Center is the citizen's group that brought movies from Chicago's Peace on Earth Film Festival to Berwyn residents, teachers, and parents at no charge.  Also, the Peace Center offers low cost Nonviolent Communications training to Berwyn residents so that people can get along better with their neighbors. "That's the type of work that donations support," says Margo Ruark.

Join us to get the word out to do even more in the weeks and months to come. The Peace Center offers training and all the materials for proven success at door-to-door fundraising.
